Apprenticeships

We're proud to be recognised as one of the top 100 apprenticeship employers in the country.

Our apprenticeship programme brings diverse talent into our business, develops and grow our future talent pipeline, and reinvigorates our existing workforce.

We offer apprenticeships in business administration, customer service, IT, caretaking, and in a range of construction trades – electrical, joinery, heating, plumbing, bricklaying and plastering. Apprentices gain on-the-job training, study for a qualification and earn money while they learn.

Anyone over the age of sixteen can apply. Our diverse population of apprentices ranges from school-leavers to people looking for a change of career and women who want to get back into work after raising a family.

We follow the pledge of 'Nottingham jobs for Nottingham people', with our own emphasis on creating work and training opportunities for Nottingham City Council Housing Services tenants. Applicants must live in Nottingham city. The exceptions to this are if you are registered disabled or come from a care background – if so you can apply whether you live in Nottingham or not.

Our apprentices work a 37-hour week, with rates of pay dependent on your age and the type of apprenticeship you take. You’ll also go to college, usually for one day a week, to get a qualification at either NVQ level 2 or 3 in your chosen area. We pay for your study and your college attendance counts as part of your working week so you would be paid for your college day too.

Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of apprenticeship and type.

It’s a mutually beneficial arrangement - you earn money, gain a qualification and benefit from learning from experienced employees – many with more than 20 years’ service. We gain a skills pipeline for the future, with many of our apprentices choosing to stay with us at the end of their apprenticeship.

Throughout your apprenticeship, our dedicated team make sure that you receive the support and guidance you need.

You must apply online – we don’t accept CVs. If you are interested in an apprenticeship opportunity with us, keep an eye on our vacancy page.
