CommUNITY Mediation

CommUNITY Mediation is a free, impartial and confidential service for Nottingham City Council tenants and leaseholders.

We know that conflict can be very stressful - particularly if it involves your neighbours or people you see regularly.

Our CommUNITY mediation service aims to bring people together who are in dispute and work through the issues they face by giving people on both sides the chance to tell each other how they feel and what both sides can do to make things better.

The service is FREE, confidential and impartial. CommUNITY mediators are trained and accredited volunteers who come from a wide variety of backgrounds, age groups and communities.

They don’t take sides, and they don’t make decisions or judgements. They don’t provide the answers either. Instead they work but they will help you find a solution that works for everybody involved.

If you’re having issues with noise, parking, pet-related nuisance, or issues with rubbish, untidy gardens or anything else that’s stopping you enjoying living in your home, mediation may be the answer.

Mediation is voluntary. You don't have to do it - but if you do decide you'd like the go ahead, you'll be expected to answer calls and return messaged when the mediators get in touch, attend meetings or appointments that you're invited to, keep to appointments or let them know if you need to rearrange.

If you're interested in CommUNITY Mediation or want to find out more, you can email community@nottinghamcity.gov.uk call 0115 746 9138 or text the word COMMUNITY followed by your message to 80800 and we'll call you back.
